Computer Injury?



Yeah, that's correct.
I think i may have a computer injury.
Not a football injury.
Not a mountain climbing or running injury.
Nothing even remotely cool and adventurous.
Not even a surfing or boogie boarding injury from saturday's time in the Pacific.

No, the typing seems to have gotten the best of me.
Its my right shoulder and well..it hurts and for those of you who don't know - pain and me are a volatile combination. I'm, what some call on the street, a wuss.

Am I alone in my wimp state here?
Anybody else ever felt like typing or something completely non contact has caused them bodily harm?

please, anybody?

i work in a computer lab, and my wrists start to hurt, and i also play keyboards in a band, and i can feel the pain when i play octaves with my hands spread out. Also i crack my knuckles alot....which may not be typing related at all..haha

Yeah man, I got not only bursitis in the shoulder, but carpel tunnel in the wrist. You gots to check out the whole acupuncture thing. Cleared me up in 3 visits. Then of course, ultimate frisbee did me in, but that's another story.

IMO: bad habit/posture. I had pain in the neck, shoulder, arm, all the way to two fingers! Went to a doc, referrred to physical therapy. They had me do some exercises which seemed so wimpy, like 20 pounds. After 1 week, pain was subsiding, after 3 weeks, GONE! They gave me exercises to do, so they never have to see me again (not that they didn't like me, just no more bad habits to cause, yeah, injury). After 3 years, no more of that, I do the exercises and nip it before it becomes pain again.

Be aware of your posture when on the computer, strainig chin forward? Shoulders tensing up? Those are bad signs, chill out!
